Basketball Playoffs in Full Swing!

Basketball+Playoffs+in+Full+Swing%21

Hello everybody, welcome to this week’s Blue Crew Bulletin on pointermedia.org

Here is a rundown on the Girls and Boys Basketball Playoffs.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

The Girls team is already deep into a promising playoff run. After defeating Lancaster (59-49) in the Regional Semifinal and Cuba City (62-50) in the Regional Finals, the Girls head into Baraboo tonight, looking for a win against top-seeded La Crosse Aquinas. Aquinas has been one of the best Girls Basketball teams in the Division in recent years. As defending state champions, they defeated Melrose-Mindoro to win back-to-back state championships. The Bluegolds focused on tempo, threes, and physicality. The Pointers will look to work as a team tonight to pull out a victory. A win tonight would bring the girls one game closer to WIAA Girls Basketball State at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Check out pointermedia.org for more information on the result of tonight’s game, and the future matchup (with a win) against the winner of Poynette and Cambridge.

BOYS BASKETBALL

As the Girls are deep in a playoff run, the boys are just getting started. Coming off of a hard fought season, the boys have earned the #3 seed and a matchup agains River Ridge. The game against River Ridge (who defeated Wisconsin Heights in the Regional Quarterfinal by a score of 56-48) will be in Mineral Point tomorrow night. The boys have a tough, yet interesting, journey to state, as they would be granted rematches against many of the teams they fell short against this season. With a victory against River Ridge, the boys would face Darlington in the Regional Final. The boys have faced Darlington twice this season, losing both times by only a few points. If they were to move on to the sectional round, they would face Cuba City and Palmyra-Eagle (regarding that all of the top seeded teams win).

Good luck to both the Girls and Boys as they look to make it to state to wrap up the winter sports seasons.
