Pointer Football Heads into Week 2 with High Hopes

Welcome back to the second edition of the Blue Crew Bulletin for the 2020-21 School Year. We have a lot of results to cover, so let’s get to it!

Football

The Pointers had a successfull start to their season. They took a 47-12 win against the Dodgers in Dodgeville. That success is showing in the first Coaches Poll of the season, in which the Pointers placed second. Regis took first in the poll. Mondovi followed Mineral Point after an impressive win over Osseo-Fairchild. Darlington came in fourth after a commanding win over River Valley, and Grantsburg took the fifth and final spots in the rankings, this week. JV Football did not play due to a lack of numbers reported by Dodgeville. The Pointers have a big test coming up tomorrow against State passing leader, Adam Moen, and the Lake Mills L-Cats. The game will take place in Mienral Point and the live stream can be found on MPTV, located here on Pointer Media!

Week 1 Coaches Poll Results (Matthew Goninen)

Volleyball

Pointer Varsity Volleyball has had a strong start to the season, only falling twice… Once in their opener, and once on Monday. Here are the Volleball team’s recent results:

September 17th at Boscobel: 3-0 Win

September 22nd vs Iowa Grant: 3-1 Win

September 28th vs Dodgeville: 0-3 Loss

Dodge-Point Boys Soccer and Cross Country

Dodge Point Boys Soccer and Cross Country have both had incredable starts to their season. Starting off with Boys Soccer, the Varsity team is 5-0. The Cross Country teams have also been very successful, taking home first place many times. However, the future is not-so bright for these teams. With Dodgeville High School going all-virtual until October 9th, Dodge-Point sports have been postponed. This is truly an unfortunate turn for these teams, but hopefully they will be able to compete again.

Thank you for reading this week’s edition of the Blue Crew Bulletin. See you next week!
