The Mineral Point volleyball team traveled to Darlington last Saturday night to take on the Redbirds. The Pointers came out on top with an outstanding win. The girls lost the first match 17-25 but came back and won the last three sets 25-16, 25-21, 25-13. According to Kennedy Kabat, “They knew it was a big tough game going into but they knew they could pull it together. The energy was very high and the cheering from the crowd made it fun to play.”  With that win, this will be the first regional title in 22 years! 

Mineral Point plays Cochrane – Fountain City on Thursday night.  The winner of that game will play the winner of the Mondovi and Osseo game also on Thursday. The victors on Thursday night will play on Saturday, October 31st. When talking to some players, we asked what was going through their heads at game time. “Knowing we could beat them and playing the best we can.” The highlight of the game for Ivy Lawinger was Kennedy Kabat serving the ace to win the game.
