The Varsity Boys Basketball team finally got under-way on Tuesday and delivered a spectacular opening to their long-awaited season. They kicked off their campaign with a match-up against the Riverdale Chieftains and defeated them quite handily. The final score ended up turning out to be a cool victory in the hands of the Pointers, as they bested their Riverdale opponents 86-30. Not too shabby if I say so myself. In terms of player contributions, we have Joah Filardo with the biggest piece of the pie. He scored an amazing total of 28 points during the course of the game. Liam Stumpf and Ian Keyes both contributed heavily as well, with 15 and 14 points scored, respectively. It just goes to show, pandemic or no pandemic, Pointer Basketball is always on top of things. Here’s hoping that they can continue this momentum when it comes time to face Iowa Grant at home this Friday.
