Friday night brought forth a spectacle and a half for the Mineral Point Boys Basketball Varsity team (that’s quite a mouthful) as they played their second game of the season against Iowa Grant. They did quite well, ending their game with a 74-38 victory. The top scorers in this game were Joah Filardo (25 points), Liam Stumpf (18 points), and Leyten Bowers (12 points). It takes a great deal of talent and discipline, from both coaches and players, in order to play at this level during a global pandemic. And speaking of coaches, Varsity head coach Daniel Burreson has this to say regarding tonight’s game and what the team needs to do to stay on top of things, “I was pleased with our overall team performance tonight.  To stay competitive, we need to continue to be committed on the defensive end, control the boards, and share the ball offensively. You heard the man! As far as continuing the season goes, their next game will be traveling to Cuba City on Tuesday in a matchup for the ages. It’s sure to be a fun one!
