The Mineral Point JV held yet another home game against Blackhawk. It was a one-sided game with Mineral Point taking control and never looking back. Coach Jelly said, “I like the way the JV team is playing together, and hopefully we can keep it up.”

On Wednesday afternoon, the MP Varsity Boys basketball team faced Blackhawk at home. They did very well, snatching yet another win for the books with a final result of 84-50. The synergy the team displayed was off the charts, with all kinds of players making huge gains. For example, we had Joah Filardo with his usual double-digit scoring, this time with 29 points on the board. We also had Dominik McVay scoring 13 points, Liam Stumpf scoring 11 (even more impressive was that he scored this much regardless of his ankle injury later in the game), Layton Bowers scoring 10 points (he wasn’t too shabby in the rebounding department either, nabbing eight by the time the buzzer rang), and Ian Keyes with 6 points and 6 rebounds too. While the game itself was quite good overall, the best part, according to Ian, was how “we came out in the second half and really worked hard on defense and on the glass”. I would have to agree. Their next game is a home game against Dodgeville on Saturday. Let’s see them come out of the New Year fresh and with another victory.
