The JV boys hosted yet another home game against Belleville. The Pointers defense had yet another good game on defense causing many turnovers. It was a back and forth game in the first half. In the second half, it was a tough start as the Pointers hit a dry spot. Halfway through the second half, the Pointers started to inch away. The Pointers hit many key free throws to make the game untouchable. The Pointers won 53-36. Coach jelly said after the game, “We are starting to get in rhythm with each other, and that is what we have been waiting for.”

On the day we returned to school, the Mineral Point Boys Varsity team returned to the court against Belleville at home. They once again pulled out a win, this time beating their opponents with a 79-59 victory. We had both Liam Stumpf and Joah Filardo laying down the law during the game, with Liam attacking the paint to score 24 points and Joah scoring 22 points. The team played well to start, but they definitely roared out of the gate after halftime, dropping shot after shot where it needed to go. According to Cameron Weigman, his favorite part was the way they broke out in the second half and all their teamwork came together in a way that was most exceptional. So let’s see them stay exceptional when they face Boscobel tomorrow at home.
