Coming off of a Regional Title, Dodge Point United Boys Soccer is picking up right where they left off: in the win column. Last night, the Varsity Squad played host to Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld, looking to pick up their third win of the new season. Exemplary passing and exquisite footwork lead to early shot opportunities, resulting in goals from Cooper Elsner and Drew Hottenstein. As the half moved along, patient and disciplined play from the defenders and midfielders led to more opportunities on the offensive end. While the opposition scored a goal of their own, Dodge Point’s very own Owen McDonald had something to say about that. McDonald locked up his very own hat trick, scoring three goals in remarkable fashion. While the early part of the game featured the offense, the latter half put the calculated play of Dodge Point on full display, working to maintain possession as the clock ticked towards the 80th minute. Scoring one more time, Dodge Point walked away from tonight’s contest victorious, taking home the win by a score of 6-1. They travel to Platteville/Lancaster tomorrow night in a battle with the Hillmen.
