During the Pointers’ home opener this Friday, the Pointers won a challenging game against Black Hawk/Warren 22-16. The game was back and forth the whole way, with the pointers leading 9-8 heading into the half.  Late in the 4th quarter, with five minutes remaining and the game all knotted up. Senior Quarterback Joah Filardo marched the team down the field and scored a big touchdown to bring the Pointers up by 6. The Pointers defense then turned away Black Hawk/Warren by a goal-line interception by Senior linebacker Bo Hanson.  After the game, Hanson quotes, “It was a big win.” Next Friday, the Pointers have a game against their conference rivals, the Cuba City Cubans.
