This past Saturday, the Varsity girls made their way down to Brodhead to play six exciting games. For the first two thrilling matches, the Pointers took on the Monroe Cheesemakers going 2-0 with 25-12 and 26-24. For the Pointer’s second game, they defeated Juda. They played a fun first match with a score of 25-18 and a second of 25-10. Next, the Pointers played both Varsity and JV Brodhead Cardinals. The Pointers fell short of the Varsity team with scores of 14-25 and 24-26. Then the girls came back and swept away the JV team, scoring 25-15 and 25-10. The Pointers won both sets for the Varsity team’s 5th match, scoring over Beloit Turner with 25-19 and 25-16. They took on the New Glarus Knights for the Pointer Girls 6th and final match, wrapping up the day with two electric wins scoring 25-7 and 25-18. Senior Ella Chambers quoted, “We definitely improved and played to our full potential this weekend.”
