October 9

Over the weekend, your JV volleyball girls played four games on Saturday and took home the win. Playing the best out of three sets, the girls only lost one set throughout the day. For the first game of the morning, they took on Edgerton and won 2-1. Although they lost the first set, they fought to the end and ended up winning; the scores of the three matches were 24-26, 25-19, and 15-12. Right after that, they took on the host, Wisconsin Heights, and won the first two sets 25-21 and 25-9. Immediately following those two games, the girls played Columbus and beat them in two sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-10. Finally, in a rematch for the championship game, the Pointers took on Edgerton. The first couple of points went back and forth, each team edging out the other. However, the girls gained momentum from rallies, earned a comfortable lead, and won the first match 25-16. In the second set, the Pointers started strong due to the energy level being high from the previous set. Their talk on the court and mechanics helped them win the second set with a score of 25-15. The Pointer JV Volleyball team edged out all three teams and took home the win, congrats girls! Coach Tom Ingwell stated, “Played great all day, overall great day!” Follow the last two games of their season Tuesday, at Riverdale, and Thursday, home against Fennimore.
