The performance of Chicago is under a week away. There is more information on the Opera House website. According to the bio of the musical, the following story will unfold, “In roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap, until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the ‘American Dream’ — fame, fortune, and acquittal.” It will be on November 19, 20, and 21. A big thanks to the cast and crew and everyone who participated in the show!

It’s crunch time for the cast and crew of Chicago. They have been doing dress rehearsals every day this week in the beautiful Opera House. The set looks stunning! The stairs add style to the otherwise empty stage, despite being minimalistic and not taking up too much space. Bill Duwell built them, and we are very thankful for his help.

The cost of the tickets is $5 for students and $10 for adults. They are available in the MPHS office, Berget Jewelers, and at the Opera House on show dates. The show dates and times are Friday, November 19, at 7 pm; Saturday, November 20 at 7 pm; and Sunday, November 21, at 1 pm. Finally, if you would like to go to a performance, be sure to follow the COVID policy at the Opera House. Please bring proof of vaccination or a negative test given within the previous 72 hours. For more information, visit the COVID-19 policies page on the Opera House website.

Be sure to watch one (or more, who’s judging) of the performances! The cast and crew would appreciate it because of all the hard work they put in over the last few months.
