Tuesday night, the Mineral Point Girls basketball took on the River Valley Black Hawks in their second home game. Coming into the game, the girls felt calm knowing that if they played their game, the end result would go as they wanted. Starting off the night, the JVR girls played the New Glarus Knights and won a close one 37-31. The leading scorer for the girls was Ellie Robinson with 12 points. During the same time, the JV girls competed against the Black Hawks, winning 56-7. Leading scorers for that game were Eliza Ingwell with 13 points and Olivia Wilson with 12 points. Reflecting on the win, all 10 pointers scored during the game making the win a little sweeter. The Varsity girls completed the night’s sweep by towering over River Valley with a score of 89-23. Before the game even started, limiting the turnovers and staying true to our principles would be key to our success. In games down the road, we hope to have the same mindsight. But like Coach always says, “never be satisfied with where you are at.” Ella Chambers led all scorers with 17 points, followed by Mallory Lindsey with 15, and Laci Lindsey with 14. Freshman Ella Kroll connected on 4 out of 5 threes on the night. This following Friday, the girls take on the Fennimore Golden Eagles with JV starting at 6 and Varsity to follow. Pull up in your camo to support the theme!
