Tuesday night, Mineral Point Boys Basketball took on the Dodgeville Dodgers in a rival game. The Pointers JV team lost a heartbreaker in overtime. The Pointers were up 48-38 with 4 minutes to go, but the Dodgers came back going on a 12-2 run to tie it and go into overtime. The Pointers couldn’t get much going as the Dodgers couldn’t either. It came down to a free throw game and the Dodgers won that battle and went on to win the game 55-52. The Pointer varsity basketball team escaped with a win 85-79. Four Pointers scored in double figures: Joah Filardo had 26, Leyten Bowers 22, Bodie Bossert 13, and Owen Ward 10. Owen led the Pointers with 9 rebounds, and Dominik McVay and Leyten Bowers each added five assists. The Pointers were headed in the locker room at halftime down by three. However, the Pointers got up early in the second half and maintained their lead all the way to the finish.
