Pointers Bounce Back Dominating the Blue Jays

Monday night, The Pointers made a long journey up to Cambridge and came away with two wins. First off, the JV team defeated the Blue Jays by a score of 54-24, despite a slow start. There was a balanced scoring attack with Reid Acherman leading with 11 and Bryce Vamstad adding 10. Next, the varsity boys defeated the Cambridge Blue Jays 72 to 49. Joah Filardo led three players in double figures with 22, Dominik McVay added 16, and Bodie Bossert 13. Owen Ward had another big rebounding night with 12 boards. Dominik McVay dished out 6 assists and Bodie Bossert had 6 takeaways. In his first start, senior guard, Tanner Goninen stated, “Despite the freezing bus ride, we came out hot.” The Pointers next will be on the road again against Iowa Grant on Friday, December 10th.
