Saturday afternoon the Mineral Point Girls Basketball team took on the Vanguards at home. To jump right off the bat the JV team towered over them scoring 70 – 28. Leading scorers Breanna Goninen and Laci Lindsey each had 9 points to add to the game. With that being said, right after the JV game followed the Induction of Vikie Dahl, Jerry Fritzgerald, Jessica Henke, Frank Mcgettigan, and Mike Mitchell into the hall of fame. Before starting the face-off of the varsity teams the community was sure to give a moment of silence for the two fallen firefighters of the Mineral Point Fire Department. There was also a “Fill the Boot” placed at the entrances of the game. The girls tipped off the game strong and came to the end even stronger. Scoring 59 – 32 the girls yet remain undefeated. Leading scorers Blair Watters and Kennedy Wenger had 15 points each while Mallory Lindsey added 12. There is always room for more improvement and that is what the girls plan to keep using. Tuesday the Girls will travel to Cuba City to have a very exciting game. Pack the stands to cheer on the team. Theme: Blackout
