Girls Basketball Battle and Defeat the Warriors
January 18, 2022
Last night, the Mineral Point Girls Basketball Team traveled to Blackhawk high school to take on the Warriors. The JV played at 6 and battled to beat the Warriors. The score of the game was 52-14. The leading scorers for the JV Pointers were Olivia Wilson adding 13 points to the victory. The Varsity Girls take home a win against the Warriors with a score of 61-28. The leading scorers of the game were Mallory Lindsey, Katelyn Cox, and Blair Watters all adding 12 points to the victory. Laci Lindsey adds 11 to the victorious win. Before the game Coach added, “This is a good basketball team, but this is a great opportunity for us to come out and make a statement.” Last year, the Mineral Point Girls Basketball team lost to the Warriors on our home court, so the Pointers knew coming out that they needed to go to Blackhawk and win against them on their court. Senior Blair Watters says after the game, “I thought the game was intense and gave several good looks in and out of the post!” Come support the girls while they play on Saturday against Belleville Wildcats! The theme is Teacher-Look Alike!
