The Dodge-Point-Iowa-Grant team traveled on Monday 17th to Prairie du Chien to face off in a dual meet. The team has competed in Prairie’s gym already this year, so they thought they would feel pretty comfortable on the equipment; however, the team was not close to competing to their full potential. Senior Ashlie Baumgartner placed 2nd on vault with a score of 8.275. She also got an 8.025 on bars, which put her 3rd. She again placed 3rd in the all-around with a total score of 30.650. The team’s overall score was 124.975, which caused them to lose to Prairie by less than a point. At past meets this season, the team has typically been doing better than Prairie, so their loss was unusual. They hope they will do better at their next meet, which is Saturday 22nd at Southwestern.
