Pointer Football Season Comes to an End with a Loss to Kenosha St. Joseph

Oct 21, 2022

Last Friday, the Pointer Football team came up short in level one of the playoffs against the Kenosha St. Joseph Lancers. The first quarter was nothing special, with neither team scoring or moving the ball all that well.

However, the second quarter was much different as the Lancers came out with some fire under their boots and quickly scoring a touchdown. The Pointers got the ball back with 6 minutes left in the quarter and had to punt right away. Which gave the Lancers a chance to take a 14-0 lead before halftime, and they did just that. The Lancers scored on a touchdown pass with 2 seconds remaining in the quarter.

The Pointers, however, got the ball to start the second half, and yet again could not move the ball. Neither team ended up scoring in the third quarter, which kept the Lancers with a 14-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Lancers did not do much right away in the fourth, but yet again the Pointers just couldn’t move the ball. The Lancers tacked on two more scores making the score 27-0 at the end of the game.

The Pointers finished the season with a record of 4-6.
