MP Girls Basketball Falls to Hillmen

December 6, 2022

The Mineral Point Girls Varsity Basketball Team, unfortunately, fell to the Platteville Hillmen last night with a score of 58-50. The Pointers started out a little slow but really picked it up at the end of the first half leading them into the second half. It was a well-fought battle and came down to the final minutes and some clutch free throws by the Hillmen. The Pointers were led by Laci Lindsey who scored 13 points. Ella Kroll and Belle Watters both added 11 more points each. Kennedy Kabat said, “The second half was definitely an improvement. In the first half, we came out a little slow. The second half we played defense well and got our momentum going to score big.”

The JV team took the victory over the Platteville Hillmen with a score of 31-25. The Pointers were led by Reagan Galle who had 7 points. Jadyn Schultz and Izzy Dannenberg both had 6 points each.

The Pointers are back at it on December 8. They will be competing against the Darlington Redbirds. The Pointers get another home-court advantage with JV starting at 6:00 P.M. and varsity to follow.
