COVINGTON, KY — The Covington Police Department has released new surveillance images as the search intensifies for a missing Northern Kentucky University (NKU) student who disappeared under “concerning” circumstances earlier this week.
Murry “Alexis” Foust, who lives in the Latonia neighborhood of Covington, has not been seen since Monday afternoon, April 27. According to authorities, the newly released surveillance footage captures Foust at approximately 5:52 p.m. local time on the day they vanished.
Mysterious Circumstances Surrounding Disappearance
The details surrounding Foust’s disappearance have left friends and family deeply concerned. In an interview with WCPO, friends revealed several troubling clues that suggest Foust did not intend to be away for long:
- Phone Left Behind: Foust’s cell phone was discovered at their residence in Latonia.
- Backpack Located: While Foust was supposed to attend classes at NKU on Monday, they never arrived. However, their backpack was later found abandoned on the Northern Kentucky University campus.
- Unusual Behavior: Friends stated it is highly uncharacteristic for Foust to be out of contact or to miss scheduled classes without notice.
Description and Last Known Appearance
In the surveillance images provided by the Covington Police Department, Foust is seen in a specific outfit that investigators hope will trigger the memory of someone in the community.
At the time of the sighting, Foust was wearing:
- A dark-colored jacket over a T-shirt.
- Distinctive, loose-fitting patterned pants.
- Black sneakers.
- A bright yellow backpack (Note: A backpack was recovered on campus, but it is unclear if this is the same one seen in the images).
How the Community Can Help
The search is currently focused on the Latonia area and the NKU Highland Heights campus. Police are asking business owners and residents with doorbell cameras in these areas to review their footage from Monday, April 27, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Foust is the child of a valued Atlanta airport employee, and the search has gained national attention as the family pleads for any information that could lead to a safe return.
