Chicago Police Search For Suspect In CTA Knife Attack

CHICAGO, IL – Public transportation detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a violent knife attack on a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train earlier this month.

The Incident

According to the Chicago Police Department, the assault occurred around 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, aboard a CTA Blue Line train traveling through The Loop.

Authorities stated that the suspect committed aggravated battery using a knife while onboard the train. Additional details regarding what led to the encounter, or the extent of any injuries sustained by victims, have not yet been released by law enforcement.

Surveillance Photos Released

In an effort to generate leads, police have released surveillance images of the individual captured at the transit station. Detectives are currently reviewing security footage from the Blue Line to track the suspect’s movements before and after the attack.
