9th grader Derek Hottenstein is a newbie to the Pointer Media news team, having joined this very year.  He currently runs the PointerMedia soccer page, and updates it after every game with scores and random commentary.  Here is some information about him you might find interesting.

Favorite Food:  Any kind of steak whatsoever gets a thumbs up in my book.

Favorite Movie/TV Show:  Oh jeez this is a hard one.  I would say my favorite movie is tied between The Lion King and whatever movie I'm currently watching at the moment.  I'm fickle that way.

Favorite Video Game:  Super Pager Mario/Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Favorite Animal:  A cat.  The fluffier the better.

Favorite thing to to in my free time:  Writing random stories.
