Bronx Rodeo Incident Man Hospitalized After Bull Attack

BAYCHESTER, The Bronx – A man in his 30s was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after being thrown and attacked by a bull during a live rodeo performance in the Bronx.

The dramatic incident unfolded during a show on Bruner Avenue in the Baychester neighborhood. A packed audience watched in disbelief as the bull bucked violently, launching the rider into the air and slamming him hard onto the ground.

Once the rider was down, the animal immediately turned and attacked him, causing several deep cuts to his face.

Heroic Off-Duty EMT Responds

An off-duty EMT who was attending the show rushed into the arena to provide immediate medical assistance before emergency vehicles arrived. According to the EMT, despite the severity of the impact and the subsequent attack, the victim remained alert and was able to speak.

Paramedics arrived shortly after and transported the injured rider to a local hospital, where he is currently recovering.

Safety and Regulation Questions

Rodeo events are relatively rare in New York City’s boroughs, and this incident has raised immediate questions among local residents regarding safety protocols for handling large livestock at community venues.
