Beaumont Man Arrested After Aggravated Robbery Leaves Victim Seriously Injured at Florida Avenue Store

Beaumont, Texas — Beaumont police have arrested a 32-year-old suspect in connection with an aggravated robbery after officers discovered a seriously injured man at a convenience store on Florida Avenue late Monday night.

Incident Reported as Welfare Concern

Officers with the Beaumont Police Department were dispatched at approximately 10:55 p.m. on December 8 following a welfare concern call at Market Ace, located at 510 Florida Ave.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured adult male seated inside a vehicle outside the store. Police said the victim appeared to be suffering from serious injuries, prompting an immediate medical response.

Victim Transported for Advanced Medical Care

Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a local Beaumont hospital for initial treatment. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later airlifted to Houston for advanced medical care.

Police confirmed the victim is currently listed in stable but serious condition.

Investigation Leads to Arrest

Following interviews and further investigation at the scene, detectives established probable cause to arrest Devonte E. Chentlen, 32, in connection with the incident.

Chentlen was taken into custody and charged with aggravated robbery, a felony offense under Texas law.

Bond Set at $1 Million

Authorities confirmed that Chentlen is currently being held at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. His bond has been set at $1 million, reflecting the seriousness of the charge and the injuries sustained by the victim.
