An afternoon shooting in Antioch left two men hospitalized Sunday, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.
According to the Antioch Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Lone Tree Way at approximately 5:30 p.m. following multiple reports of gunfire in the area. Responding officers arrived within minutes and conducted a search of the surrounding neighborhood but did not immediately locate any victims at the scene.
Shortly after the initial response, emergency dispatchers received notification that two adult men had arrived at a nearby hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities later confirmed that the two individuals, ages 41 and 45, were involved in the shooting incident reported earlier.
Both men were transferred to a trauma center for further treatment. Officials stated that one victim is currently listed in stable condition, while the other remains in critical condition as medical teams continue to provide care.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting, including whether the incident was targeted or resulted from a dispute. Detectives are also reviewing potential surveillance footage from nearby businesses and residences and are speaking with witnesses in the area.
