Texas Mother of 3 and Husband Accused of Running Prostitution Ring in Collaboration with Local Police

GODLEY, TX — A shocking criminal investigation has sent waves through Johnson County as a local mother of three stands accused of running a sophisticated prostitution ring alongside her husband—allegedly with the help of high-ranking police officials.

Ashley Ketcherside was taken into custody on April 14, facing serious charges of racketeering. Her husband, Michael Ketcherside, who was arrested earlier on April 2, faces charges of continuous promotion of prostitution and racketeering. While the couple is at the center of the probe, the investigation has pulled back the curtain on alleged “ongoing criminal activity” within the Godley Police Department.

A Web of Corruption and Conspiracy

The investigation, a joint effort between the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Johnson and Somervell Counties District Attorney’s Office, took a dramatic turn on March 31. Authorities executed a search warrant at the Ketcherside home, seizing electronic devices that prosecutors say contain “evidence of an ongoing prostitution conspiracy” involving numerous clients over several years.

However, the most explosive revelation involves the collaboration between the Ketchersides and local law enforcement. Prosecutors allege that the couple worked with the then-sworn Chief of Police, Matthew Cantrell, and other officers to maintain their operation.

Beyond the prostitution ring, the group is accused of a darker conspiracy: using police resources to “compile information on local public officials and private citizens they perceived as adversaries.” This list of targets reportedly included:

  • Members of the Godley City Council.
  • The Godley Independent School Board.
  • The former Mayor and former Chief of Police of Godley.

Police Leadership Under Fire

The fallout has already led to arrests within the department. Former Chief Matthew Cantrell has been arrested on charges of promoting prostitution, while former officer Solomon Omotoya was booked for soliciting prostitution.

The current Police Chief, Darrell “Dusty” Vinson, told media outlets that the department is fully cooperating with the District Attorney. “The city welcomes and applauds the District Attorney’s Office for their work in addressing this alleged criminal activity,” Vinson stated.

The Suspect’s Public Denial

Despite the mounting evidence and her history, Ashley Ketcherside has publicly maintained her innocence. Before her arrest, she told local outlets that she was not a victim of trafficking and denied being a prostitute.

“He’s a great husband, an amazing father to my three kids,” Ashley said of Michael. “I’m absolutely no victim of my husband or anybody else.”

However, this isn’t Ashley’s first brush with such allegations. In 2023, she was removed from a Godley school district committee—which was ironically establishing the district’s sex education curriculum—after officials discovered her prior prostitution convictions from 2012 and 2016. At that time, reports alleged she was still actively advertising on escort websites.

What Happens Next?

As of now, many court records remain sealed to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation. The community remains on edge as investigators continue to sift through digital evidence that could implicate more “clients” and officials.

The Ketchersides operated the alleged scheme out of their family home, a detail that has particularly disturbed local residents given the presence of their three children.
