The Taftville Fire Department responded to emergency calls around 8:35 p.m. reporting a structure fire at 24 North 3rd Avenue. Upon arrival, crews were met with a harrowing sight: heavy flames were visible on the first floor of the 2½-story wood-frame duplex, with the fire rapidly climbing the rear exterior of the building toward the upper levels.
