Two Wounded In Uptown Officer-Involved Shooting Monday Night

CHICAGO, IL – A heavy police presence flooded Chicago’s North Side on Monday evening following an officer-involved shooting that left two civilians hospitalized.

Emergency Response In Uptown

The shooting occurred in the 1400 block of West Argyle Street, near North Glenwood Avenue, in the city’s Uptown neighborhood. Chicago’s Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) confirmed their response to the scene at around 9:30 p.m.

A spokesperson for the Chicago Fire Department confirmed that emergency crews transported two wounded civilians to local hospitals. The exact medical conditions of the individuals have not yet been released.

Investigation Details Scarce

As of late Monday night, the Chicago Police Department had not provided official details regarding what led up to the gunfire or whether any officers sustained injuries during the encounter.

COPA investigators remained on the scene for several hours collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the sequence of events.
