Woman Airlifted After Serious Colorado River Boating Accident

NEEDLES, CA – A woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a boat while floating down the Colorado River over the weekend, San Bernardino County authorities confirmed.

The Incident Near Needles Bridge

The severe collision occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, just north of the Needles Bridge. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Marine Enforcement Unit rushed to the scene following emergency reports of a major-injury boating accident.

Investigators determined that the victim was floating down the river on an inner tube when she was directly struck by a passing boat, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

Emergency Airlift To Las Vegas

On-scene paramedics administered immediate emergency treatment to stabilize the woman. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was quickly airlifted to a specialized trauma center in Las Vegas for advanced medical care. Her current condition has not been released.

Investigation and Public Appeal

The identities of the victim and the boat operator are currently being withheld by officials. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation, and authorities have not yet confirmed if speed, alcohol, or drugs played a role in the collision.
