BRONX, NY – A quiet evening in the Bronx turned deadly Monday when a 21-year-old man was shot and killed right outside a residential building.
The Shooting
According to the NYPD, the incident occurred just before 7:00 p.m. on East 187th Street, between Webster and Park Avenues.
Responding officers discovered the young victim on the sidewalk suffering from a severe gunshot wound to his head. Emergency medical personnel rushed the unidentified man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
Crime Scene Investigation
Police quickly cordoned off the area as a large crowd gathered. Investigators spent Monday night swarming the scene, closely examining and photographing evidence left on the pavement, which included blood and a fallen baseball cap.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been established, and authorities have not released any descriptions of potential suspects.
No Arrests Made
As of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting. The investigation remains active and ongoing by local detectives.
