$10,000 Reward Offered For Missing Nonverbal Autistic Boy In Menands

MENANDS, NY – A massive search is underway in the village of Menands after a 7-year-old nonverbal autistic boy vanished from a graduation party Sunday afternoon.

The Disappearance

Harbe Nagi was last seen around 4:10 p.m. on Sunday at a celebration in Menands, a village just north of Albany. According to the Menands Police Department, the boy does not live in the neighborhood and primarily speaks Arabic.

The child is the nephew of Hamtramck, Michigan, Mayor Adam Alharbi, who has flown to New York to assist in the search. The family is now offering a $10,000 reward for his safe return.

Crucial Search Details

Nagi is known to wander, loves climbing, and has a strong interest in water. In a creative effort to locate him, authorities have stationed ice cream trucks in the area, hoping the music will lure him out, as he is known to love the song “Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star.”

  • Description: 3-foot-7, roughly 48 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.
  • Last Seen Wearing: A light-colored shirt, dark pants, and no shoes.

Community and Police Response

Neighbors and community members have joined forces with local authorities to search backyards, garages, and structures. The New York State Police, Albany County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI’s Albany Office are all assisting in the investigation. Officials currently do not suspect foul play.

What To Do If You See Him

Residents in the Menands and Albany areas are urged to check their private surveillance cameras and any easily climbed structures on their property.

Important Note: Anyone who spots Nagi should call 911 immediately and speak softly, as loud noises or sudden actions may overwhelm him.
