Arlington, Texas – A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of his grandmother, after police say a dispute over allowance money escalated into a deadly confrontation inside a family home.
The incident, which occurred on March 20, has left the local community shaken and raised troubling questions about how a domestic disagreement turned tragic.
Woman found unresponsive on apartment patio
According to authorities, officers responded to a call around 4:40 p.m. after a family member discovered the 68-year-old woman lying unresponsive on her apartment patio.
“The victim was found covered with a blanket and unresponsive when officers arrived,” police said.
Emergency responders quickly reached the scene, but the woman was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics arrived.
Her identity has not yet been publicly released by officials.
Investigation points to family dispute
As detectives began investigating the case, they uncovered information pointing toward a recent argument between the victim and her grandson.

Officials also confirmed that a firearm believed to be the murder weapon was recovered inside the apartment.
Arrest made, bond set at $750,000
Jackson has been charged with one count of murder and was initially booked into the Arlington City Jail before being transferred to the Tarrant County Jail.
He is currently being held on a $750,000 bond, according to jail records.
“The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues,” officials confirmed.
