Police Detain Over a Dozen at ‘Party’ Inside Vacant Hollywood Hills Mansion

HOLLYWOOD HILLS, CA — A quiet night in one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhoods was shattered Friday night when a massive police response descended on a home in the historic Bird Streets area.

More than a dozen individuals were detained after Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers swarmed a property on Blue Jay Way, a street famously known for its celebrity residents and panoramic views of the city. What was initially reported as a violent crime in progress quickly shifted into a strange investigation involving a “vacant” luxury home and a group of unauthorized partygoers.

From Burglary Call to Party Bust

The incident began late Friday evening when the LAPD received a call reporting a burglary in progress. Officers arrived at the scene expecting to find intruders, but instead discovered a large group of people who appeared to have gathered at the residence for a party.

While police initially treated the scene as a high-stakes crime, they later clarified that the house was supposedly vacant. It remains unclear how the group gained access to the multi-million dollar property or who organized the gathering. Aerial footage from NewsChopper4 showed a heavy police presence, with multiple patrol cars lining the narrow, winding roads of the Hollywood Hills as officers led individuals out of the home.

The Bird Streets: A Magnet for Trouble?

Blue Jay Way is part of the prestigious “Bird Streets” neighborhood, where homes often sell for upwards of $10 million to $30 million. However, the area has recently seen a rise in “mansion squatting” and unauthorized parties at vacant properties listed for sale.

Local residents have frequently expressed frustration over the security risks these gatherings pose. In many cases, “party house” organizers scout vacant listings on real estate sites, break in, and charge admission for secret events—often advertised only on social media hours before they begin.

Ongoing Investigation and Detentions

LAPD has not yet confirmed if any formal arrests were made or if the individuals detained will face charges such as criminal trespass or vandalism. As of Saturday morning, investigators are still working to contact the owner of the property to determine if any damage was done to the interior of the home.

No injuries were reported during the police operation, though the massive deployment of officers caused significant traffic delays for neighbors trying to navigate the hills.
