WHITTIER, CA – A Whittier massage parlor has been officially shut down following a city-wide investigation into potential human trafficking, authorities announced Thursday.
The Raid on Whittier Boulevard
Acting on concerns regarding human trafficking, detectives executed a search warrant on Wednesday at a business located in the 11100 block of Whittier Boulevard.
The Whittier Police Department, in coordination with Whittier Code Enforcement, identified the establishment as an illicit operation and immediately shuttered the business.
Suspicious Activity Reported
Neighbors and workers from nearby businesses had previously expressed concerns about the location’s operations.
Kealey Medina, who works adjacent to the parlor, noted that foot traffic at the establishment seemed highly unusual. She stated that clients and individuals frequently entered and exited through the back door rather than the front entrance, raising red flags.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities have not yet confirmed if any arrests were made during the raid or how many individuals were found inside the business.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue to look into the full scope of the operation. Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity in the area is encouraged to contact the Whittier Police Department.
