Los Angeles Nanny Arrested On Felony Child Abuse Charges

SANTA MONICA, CA – A 65-year-old nanny has been arrested following an investigation into the suspected physical abuse of an infant in the Los Angeles area.

Hospital Report Leads To Arrest

The investigation began on April 7, when authorities were alerted to a suspected child abuse case at a local Los Angeles hospital. After a thorough investigation, detectives determined that the infant had sustained injuries consistent with physical abuse.

On April 15, the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) arrested Carolina Cobian on felony child abuse charges. According to the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office, Cobian has since been charged with one felony count of child endangerment.

Legal Proceedings And Investigation

Following her arrest, Cobian was released on bail. She is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on May 28.

While details remain limited due to the sensitive nature of the case, detectives are now reaching out to the community. They are looking to identify any other families who may have hired Cobian as a nanny, childcare provider, or caregiver.
