WONDER LAKE, IL – A massive house explosion in suburban Wonder Lake on Sunday evening drew a heavy presence of emergency personnel and left a trail of widespread destruction.
Emergency Response At Birch Drive
The Wonder Lake Fire Protection District confirmed that emergency crews rushed to the scene following the blast. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office alerted the public at 8:38 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, reporting a significant police and fire presence near the intersection of Birch Drive and East Wonder Lake Road.
Residents and motorists were strongly advised to completely avoid the area to allow emergency vehicles clear access to the scene.
