PACOIMA, CA – One person was killed early Tuesday morning following a violent two-vehicle collision on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Pacoima, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Early Morning Collision
The fatal crash was reported at 3:39 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway, right at the Terra Bella Street off-ramp.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but unfortunately, one individual succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the location. Authorities have withheld the identity of the victim pending family notification.
Investigation and Traffic Impact
CHP officers confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the wreck, but details on what led up to the collision remain unclear. Investigators are working to determine:
- Whether speeding or weather conditions played a role.
- If any passengers were inside the vehicles at the time of impact.
