DORCHESTER, MA – A 37-year-old Hyde Park man faced a judge in Dorchester District Court on Monday following a violent crime spree that left a female pedestrian dead over the weekend.
The Fatal Carjacking
The suspect, identified as Ibraim Matos, is accused of carjacking a Toyota RAV4 from the Fernandez Car Wash on Blue Hill Avenue on Saturday. Surveillance video from the scene shows the driver being forcefully pulled out of the vehicle before Matos allegedly sped off.
A short distance away, police say Matos drove onto the sidewalk, striking and killing a woman who was walking. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
Spree Ends in Crash with MBTA Bus
According to investigators, the violence began even before the fatal incident. Police revealed that Matos had stolen another vehicle prior to the car wash carjacking.
The dangerous spree finally came to an end when Matos crashed into an MBTA bus. Following that collision, a group of quick-thinking bystanders rushed the vehicle, pulled Matos out, and held him on the ground until law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.

Because of the sequence of events, Matos is now officially charged with:
