MIAMI, FL – A 44-year-old Iowa woman has surrendered to Florida authorities weeks after she allegedly punched a young girl in the face during a Carnival cruise.
The Incident At Sea
The assault allegedly took place on March 19 aboard the Carnival Sunrise. According to an arrest affidavit, a juvenile girl was standing in line at a ship restaurant when Jennifer Frost, 44, attempted to join her group’s conversation.
The victim reported that Frost appeared intoxicated and was “pretending to laugh” as if she were part of the group. When the girl tried to ignore her, Frost allegedly lunged forward and violently punched the child in the face.
Severe Injuries And Investigation
The punch resulted in a severe nosebleed and “intense pain” for the young victim. While Frost reportedly attempted to flee the scene, ship security was able to detain her after witnesses followed her from a distance.
Evidence against Frost includes:
- Body-Cam Footage: Security recordings allegedly show Frost admitting to the punch and expressing satisfaction with her actions.
- CCTV Evidence: Onboard surveillance footage reportedly corroborates the victim’s account of the unprovoked attack.
Legal Proceedings
Although the ship returned to the Port of Miami on March 21, Frost disembarked before police could make contact. After returning to Iowa, she eventually traveled back to Miami to turn herself in on Monday, May 4.
Frost met with detectives at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and currently faces one count of battery. Court records indicate her bond was set at $2,500, and she is no longer in custody.
