Kentucky Schools on High Alert After Wave of Bomb Threat Robocalls Sparks Statewide Investigation

FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) have launched a statewide investigation after a series of bomb threats targeted multiple schools on Tuesday. Authorities believe the threats may be part of a coordinated robocall campaign rather than credible dangers.

Statewide Threats Under Investigation

KSP officials announced that they are working closely with local law enforcement agencies to track the origin of the calls. Preliminary findings suggest that the threats were automated, using prerecorded or artificial voices to disrupt school operations.

“These threats are illegal, disruptive, and unacceptable,” KSP stated. “We will thoroughly investigate each incident and hold those responsible fully accountable.”

No Credible Danger Found

As of Tuesday evening, investigators confirmed that none of the threats have been deemed credible. While police have not released a specific list of the targeted schools or counties, the sheer volume of calls has caused significant alarm for parents and faculty across the Commonwealth.

The incident follows a similar pattern of hoax calls seen recently, including threats that led to the evacuation of the Louisville Zoo just last Friday.

Parents Demand More Information

The lack of specific details regarding which schools were targeted has led to a wave of concern on social media. Many parents are calling for more transparency, questioning which districts are at risk so they can make informed decisions for their children’s safety.

The FCC notes that robocalls have become a “preferred tool” for scammers and hoaxers due to their ability to reach large numbers of people quickly with minimal effort.
