A large-scale, cross-state law enforcement operation has resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs, firearms and cash in an investigation spanning Ohio and Kentucky.
Authorities confirmed that the coordinated effort involved the Boyd County Sheriff’s Office, the Lawrence Drug and Major Crimes Task Force in Ohio, the Northeast Kentucky Drug Task Force and the Ashland Police Department. The investigation was the result of ongoing collaboration between agencies working to disrupt suspected drug trafficking networks operating across state lines.
According to officials, the joint operation led to the recovery of approximately 67 pounds of marijuana along with a supply of Oxycodone pills. In addition to narcotics, investigators confiscated 18 firearms, including at least one weapon reported stolen. A substantial amount of cash believed to be connected to illegal drug activity was also seized.
Law enforcement representatives stated that the investigation had been underway for some time, involving surveillance efforts, intelligence sharing and coordinated enforcement actions. The arrests mark what officials described as a significant step in targeting drug distribution operations affecting communities in both states.
Authorities emphasized that multi-agency partnerships are critical in tackling organized crime that frequently crosses jurisdictional boundaries. By pooling resources and information, agencies are better equipped to identify trafficking routes, dismantle networks and prevent illegal substances from reaching neighborhoods.
The individuals taken into custody are expected to face a range of charges related to drug trafficking, weapons violations and other potential offenses. Officials indicated that the investigation remains active and additional arrests or charges could follow as evidence continues to be reviewed.
