CYPRESS, TX — The “Lone Star State” is about to get even more legendary flavor. Construction is officially in high gear at the busy intersection of Grand Parkway and West Road, where a sprawling new Texas Roadhouse is preparing to open its doors to the Cypress community.
This isn’t just another restaurant opening; it is one of the largest footprints the chain has ever established in the region, promising more seats, more steaks, and a massive boost to the local job market.
Bigger Than the Average Roadhouse
While most Texas Roadhouse locations across the country average between 6,700 and 7,500 square feet, the new Cypress location is pushing boundaries. Spanning a massive 8,100 square feet, this site will rank among the company’s largest venues.
According to local reports from Hello Cypress, the extra square footage is a strategic move to accommodate the high demand in the area. The restaurant is expected to offer:
- Ample Seating: Significantly more than the standard 291-300 guest capacity.
- Large Group Accommodations: Designed specifically for big families and busy weekend crowds.
- Expanded To-Go Services: A dedicated setup to handle the high volume of “to-go” orders that have become a staple for the brand.
Managing partners recently shared a “sneak peek” of the construction progress on Facebook, fueling excitement among local fans who have been watching the site develop at the Grand Parkway intersection.
Huge Employment Opportunities: 200+ Roles Open
The sheer size of the building requires a massive team to keep it running. According to the Houston Chronicle, Texas Roadhouse is looking to hire more than 200 employees to staff the new Cypress location.
Positions range from front-of-house hosts and servers to specialized meat cutters and kitchen staff. As the restaurant prepares for its reported early June opening, the company is actively recruiting residents from Cypress, Katy, and surrounding areas.
A Hoosier Start for a Texas Legend
Despite the brand’s deep association with Texas culture and its hand-cut steaks, made-from-scratch sides, and famous fresh-baked bread, the company has an interesting history. Many are surprised to learn that the first Texas Roadhouse actually opened in Clarksville, Indiana, in 1993. Today, the company is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, and operates over 580 locations across 49 states.
With an average of 5,000 guests served per week at existing locations, the Cypress site is expected to be one of the highest-traffic dining destinations in Northwest Harris County.
What do you think, Cypress? Is the Grand Parkway and West Road intersection ready for this much traffic, or are you just excited to finally have those hot rolls closer to home?
