Miami-Dade Woman Accused of Attacking McDonald’s Worker Over Order Dispute
PALMETTO BAY, FLORIDA — A late-night fast-food dispute turned violent after a woman allegedly attacked a McDonald’s employee with a piece of wood during an argument over her order, authorities said.
The incident, which occurred late last year, has now led to an arrest.
Argument Escalates at Drive-Thru
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on Dec. 27 at a McDonald’s location on South Dixie Highway.
Investigators say the suspect, 53-year-old Andrea Houston, became upset at the drive-thru window after believing items were missing from her order.
Employees reportedly told her the order was complete and that any additional items would require payment.
Alleged Assault With Wooden Object
Authorities said the situation quickly escalated.
Houston allegedly grabbed a piece of wood from inside her vehicle, began yelling, and threatened the employee.
Investigators say she then struck the worker in the face with the object through the drive-thru window before fleeing the scene.
Witness Video Helps Identify Suspect
A witness captured the incident on video and provided the vehicle’s license plate to authorities.
Police later identified Houston as the registered owner of the vehicle, and the employee confirmed her identity through a photo lineup.
Arrest Made Months Later
Houston was taken into custody Monday after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area.
Authorities said she resisted arrest by tensing her arms and moving her body, making it difficult for officers to detain her.
Charges and Legal Status
According to investigators, Houston is facing multiple charges, including:
- Burglary with assault or battery
- Resisting an officer without violence

She is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with a bond set at $8,000.
Prior Record and Court Orders
Officials say Houston has prior convictions, including felony battery and battery on a law enforcement officer.
Following her arrest, she was placed on house arrest and ordered to stay away from both the victim and the McDonald’s location.
Investigation Continues
Authorities continue to review the case as it moves through the legal process.
The incident highlights how quickly routine situations can escalate into serious criminal matters.
