TUSTIN, CA – Police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a 42-year-old woman Thursday evening in a quiet Tustin neighborhood.
The Incident near 17th and Yorba
Tustin Police officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire around 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of 17th and Yorba streets.
Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered the woman’s body behind a white SUV parked along the east curb, just north of 17th Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Family members later identified the victim as a mother of three children.
Suspect Vehicle Spotted
Witnesses told investigators they saw a man dressed in black clothing fleeing the area immediately after the gunshots. He reportedly left the scene in a dark, older-model sedan.
As of Friday afternoon, authorities have not released a detailed physical description of the suspect or the exact make and model of the getaway car. No arrests have been made.
Investigation and Public Safety
The motive behind the deadly shooting remains entirely unclear. However, Tustin Police stated that preliminary evidence suggests this was an isolated incident and they do not believe there is an active threat to the general public.
