ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – A refreshing shift in the weather pattern is bringing relief to South Jersey and Delaware just in time for the official start of summer and Father’s Day weekend.
Friday Morning Showers Clearing Fast
An area of low pressure passing to the south is bringing morning clouds and scattered, light showers to central and southern Delaware, as well as coastal South Jersey.
However, these showers are expected to move out by Friday afternoon. The rest of the region will remain dry as morning clouds break away to reveal pleasant afternoon sunshine, accompanied by a refreshing breeze that is rapidly dropping humidity levels.
A Gorgeous First Weekend Of Summer
The arrival of dry air sets the stage for a spectacular June weekend, which marks a significant seasonal transition:
- Saturday (Last Day of Spring): Expect a high of 85°F with a pleasant breeze and very low humidity.
- Sunday (First Day of Summer & Father’s Day): The summer solstice officially occurs at 4:25 a.m. Sunday will feature calmer winds, low humidity, and a beautiful high of 87°F.
Soaking Rain Expected Monday
While the weekend will be ideal for outdoor plans and Father’s Day celebrations, regional drought conditions mean moisture is heavily needed.
Local lawns and gardens will get a much-needed soaking on Monday, as the next major storm system moves into the area, bringing widespread rainfall and potential thunderstorms.
