Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Suspect After Brutal Attack At Richardson Restaurant

RICHARDSON, TX – A night of “Music Bingo” turned into a scene of chaos and heroism at a local Richardson bar on Wednesday night, leaving four people injured and a suspect dead.

The Attack at Good Vibes Bar & Grill

The incident began around 10 p.m. in the 2100 block of East Buckingham Road. According to witnesses and family members, a man armed with a knife attacked a bartender inside the Good Vibes Bar & Grill.

In a selfless act of bravery, several customers stepped in to protect the employee. During the struggle, four people sustained stab wounds. One victim is reportedly in critical condition after being stabbed in the lung and heart while trying to assist.

Police Encounter and Shooting

Richardson Police arrived to find the suspect outside the restaurant’s entrance, still armed with a knife. Despite multiple commands from officers to drop the weapon, the man refused to comply.

Two officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Aftermath and Community Reaction

The restaurant remained a crime scene overnight, with shattered glass and evidence of the struggle marking the entrance. Co-owner Jay Smith shared a message on social media asking for prayers for the staff and the “guardian angel” customers who intervened.

“Our staff members are shaken,” the business stated, confirming that the bar will remain closed on Thursday and plans to reopen Friday.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public. While the names of the victims have not been officially released, police are continuing to interview witnesses to determine what led to the initial confrontation.
