Three Arrested Following Violent Newport Beach Home Invasion

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – Three suspects have been taken into custody in connection with a violent armed robbery at a short-term rental property in Newport Beach, following a months-long police investigation.

The Armed Invasion

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 13 at approximately 5:51 a.m. According to the Newport Beach Police Department, two masked intruders armed with handguns forced their way into the rental home.

The suspects demanded cash and narcotics from the occupants inside. During the confrontation, multiple victims were assaulted and sustained injuries that required medical treatment. The suspects fled the scene after stealing jewelry, cellphones, car keys, and other valuables.

Suspects Identified and Charged

Following a detailed investigation, detectives identified three individuals involved in planning and executing the heist. On June 3, police arrested and booked the following suspects:

  • Linda Shahin (38) of Los Angeles: Believed to have played a significant role in orchestrating the robbery.
  • Edward Graves (35) of Los Angeles: Charged with conspiracy, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon.
  • Miguel Cervantes (28) of Alhambra: Charged with conspiracy, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Evidence Recovered

During the execution of search warrants at multiple locations, detectives recovered firearms and stolen property believed to be directly tied to the crime. Authorities stated that the investigation remains highly active, and additional charges may be filed as evidence continues to be reviewed.
