One man was killed and at least three others were injured Sunday evening after a shooting at a fast-food restaurant in South Los Angeles, authorities confirmed.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 6:44 p.m. at a Louisiana Fried Chicken location along Manchester Avenue in the Manchester Square area.
What Police Say Happened
Investigators said four people were inside the restaurant waiting for their food when two men arrived on foot and suddenly opened fire. The suspects reportedly targeted the group before fleeing the scene moments later.
A 36-year-old man was critically wounded and later pronounced dead from his injuries. The remaining three victims were transported to nearby hospitals, where they were treated and listed in stable condition, police said.
Suspects Fled the Area
Authorities stated that the suspects initially approached on foot but escaped westbound in a vehicle following the shooting. As of Sunday night, no arrests had been made, and descriptions of the suspects had not yet been released.
Detectives are continuing to review surveillance footage from the restaurant and nearby businesses to identify those responsible.
Ongoing Investigation
Police have not confirmed whether the shooting was targeted or random. Investigators are working to determine a motive and whether the victims were known to the suspects.
