Los Angeles County, California — A major multi-county investigation has led to the recovery of millions of dollars in stolen goods and the arrest of several suspects tied to an organized cargo theft operation.
Authorities say the case involved products taken from dozens of major companies, highlighting the growing scale of organized retail and cargo crime.
Massive operation uncovers millions in stolen goods
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that approximately $7 million worth of stolen merchandise was recovered during the investigation.
In addition, deputies seized around $1 million in cash linked to the operation.
“The recovered items were tied to cargo thefts involving multiple companies,” officials said.
Searches carried out across multiple counties
Detectives executed 13 search warrants across:
- Los Angeles County
- Riverside County
- San Bernardino County
The coordinated effort took place over several months, from December 2025 through February 2026.
“This was part of a large-scale, organized investigation,” authorities noted.
Goods linked to dozens of major companies
Officials say the stolen items came from 36 different companies, including major brands and retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Sony, LG, and TJ Maxx.
